INPP Practitioner Training — For Professionals
Professional Training

The INPP One-Year Practitioner Course

A rigorous, evidence-based postgraduate qualification for professionals working with children and adults facing neuromotor, behavioural, and learning challenges.

Developed by Dr. Peter Blythe in 1975, the INPP Method is a proven, research-backed approach to assessing and treating neuromotor immaturity. This one-year postgraduate programme equips qualified professionals to offer specialist INPP diagnostic assessments and individualised movement programmes to children and adults whose development has been affected by retained primitive reflexes.

Is This Course Right for You?

The Practitioner Course is designed for qualified professionals with at least five years' experience working in relevant fields. If you work with children or adults facing developmental, learning, or behavioural challenges, this training could transform your practice.

Educational Psychologists

Extend your assessment toolkit to include neuromotor screening and movement-based intervention.

Occupational Therapists

Add a specialist understanding of primitive reflex retention to your clinical and developmental work.

Social Workers

Understand the neuromotor foundations of behaviour, emotional regulation and learning in the children and families you support.

Teachers & SENCOs

Move beyond classroom strategies to offer formal diagnostic assessment and structured intervention programmes.

Speech & Language Therapists

Explore the relationship between neuromotor immaturity and communication, auditory processing, and language development.

Health & Medical Professionals

Gain a thorough grounding in the neurological basis of developmental and learning difficulties for use within clinical settings.

What This Qualification Gives You

Completing the INPP Practitioner Course opens doors to specialist clinical practice, recognised professional status, and a genuine ability to help people who have often been failed by other approaches.

01

Recognised Licentiate Status

Graduates receive Licentiate membership of INPP, listed on the official UK and international practitioner directories. This signals credibility and trust to referrers and families.

02

Specialist Diagnostic Skills

Learn to conduct full INPP Diagnostic Assessments, identifying the specific retained reflexes contributing to a child's or adult's difficulties through a structured, evidence-based process.

03

Bespoke Programme Delivery

Design and supervise individualised INPP movement programmes tailored to each client, addressing the root neuromotor causes rather than managing surface symptoms alone.

04

Postgraduate Academic Credit

Graduates of the four modules may be eligible for postgraduate credits through the School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

05

Ongoing Professional Support

Access to bi-annual CPD days, a supervised provisional practice period, INPP resources, and a community of fellow practitioners committed to continuing professional development.

06

A Genuinely Transformative Approach

The INPP Method addresses neuromotor immaturity at its source. Practitioners consistently report meaningful, lasting changes in the children and adults they work with, often where other interventions have not succeeded.

The course comprises four modules totalling 90 contact hours, combining online and in-person teaching, practical case study work, written assignments, and a formal examination.
