Understanding Neuro-developmental Delay

At Think Thrive Ltd, we specialise in working with children who show signs of neuro-developmental delay. This simply means there's an immaturity in how their central nervous system is functioning. We often see this highlighted by the presence of retained primitive reflexes.

What are Primitive Reflexes?

Primitive reflexes are automatic, involuntary responses that develop when we're in the womb. They're essential for the birthing process and for our development during the first year of life; when integrated they pave the way for our postural reflexes which help our central nervous system and sensory systems work as effectively as possible throughout life.

Ideally, these primitive reflexes should stop being active by the time a child reaches a year old. However, if they remain active beyond this point, they can impact the normal development of the central nervous system, leading to behavioural, emotional, learning, and physiological challenges.

Our Approach

We offer a non-invasive, drug-free, and individualised programme that uses simple, daily movements. This approach, based in science, supports the central nervous system in resuming its natural developmental path, essentially offering the brain a fresh opportunity to flourish.

We are neurodevelopmental therapists and school advisors specialising in helping children unlock their full potential through evidence-based methods such as the INPP and Tomatis approaches. With a focus on understanding and addressing the physical factors underlying neurodevelopmental challenges, we provide tailored, non-invasive, and drug-free support to empower children to engage with the world around them more effectively.

The INPP method, with over 45 years of research and proven success, uses personalised daily physical exercises to address difficulties that may impact learning, coordination, and behaviour.
